THUMS Drilling Engineering and Process Improvement

Client: THUMS Long Beach Company

InterAct is providing drilling engineering expertise for various wells drilled from the THUMS Production Islands in Long Beach Harbor. The following work is ongoing:
  - Risk-based anti-collision procedures using COMPASS directional drilling software
  - Technical limit analysis management; Customized cost estimating program
  - Cost estimates and drilling feasibility evaluation for deep drilling project
  - Performance tracking "scorecard" for drilling projects
  - Working w/ drilling management team to improve drilling practices and processes.

PXP / Arguello Inc. Platforms Hidalgo and Irene Drilling Projects

InterAct prepared engineering specifications and procedures for installation of additional 24" conductor casings on Platform Hidalgo to support the Rocky Point extended reach drilling project. Our management responsibilities included procurement, welding, and coating of 24" conductor casings. Our personnel managed the inspection and evaluation of Platform Irene drilling rig, including derrick, substructure, drawworks, top drive, mud pumps, mud pits, BOPE, and electrical generators/SCR. We developed the cost estimate to refurbish Platform Irene drilling rig and provided Drilling Supervisors to oversee the construction as wells as operations.

Drilling Engineering, Facility Design, Permitting & Construction Management

Client: Legacy Energy, Pleito Creek Lease

Utilizing our broad suite of services, InterAct is providing Legacy Energy with the regulatory, engineering, and operations support necessary to execute the enhanced oil recovery efforts at the Pleito Creek field in Kern County, California. From the initial stages of due diligence and permit evaluation, InterAct has continued its partnership with Legacy on this cutting-edge in-situ combustion project providing detailed horizontal well casing design, facilities engineering & construction management. Our skilled operations and safety personnel effectively manage field development and production activities as the contract operator.

Completion Engineering – UK Land Well

InterAct has over the past 10 years been involved in completion engineering and well testing design for onshore and offshore wells for a variety of clients. Recent examples include completions for gas storage operations (reservoir and salt cavern) and coal bed methane projects. We act as the clients outsourced completions department, developing the design, writing the programs and work instructions, specifying and on occasion tendering the equipment, liaising with third party suppliers, and supervising the running of the completion tools onsite.

South Belridge Facility Design, Permitting and Construction Management

Client: Orchard Petroleum

InterAct managed a $5M oil processing facility expansion from foundations to commissioning for Orchard Petroleum. The scope of work included vendor bid evaluation, piping design, project scheduling, permitting and engineering coordination.

InterAct designed a solar powered, wireless tank control system with Internet interface for remote monitoring and operator notification. Implementation of process solutions provides our clients with turnkey support.

Venoco Inc. Platforms Gail and Holly Drilling Engineering

InterAct provided drilling engineering expertise for Venoco’s Platform Gail and Platform Holly redrill and completion projects. Specifically, we prepared plugging and slot recovery procedures, designed open hole and cased hole gravel packed completions, developed well designs, analyzed torque and drag, and prepared cost estimates for extended reach drilling opportunities. In addition, InterAct prepared NPDES discharge reports for drilling and workovers.  InterAct’s Drilling Supervisors were brought in to oversee the construction efforts as well as operations. We also provided Offshore Crane Operators and Certified Riggers throughout both drilling projects.
