Centrica Dutch Well Abandonment

Drilled in the early 1980s as an exploration well, it was immediately suspended with a stack of Temporary Abandonment (TA) caps installed in the well head which have remained in place for the last 30 years.

InterAct has been able to supply riser analysis work for the tie back of the well through sister company 2H Offshore and with assistance from another sister company, Claxton, bespoke tooling is being developed which is required to safely remove the successive TA caps that now have the potential to harbour trapped pressure.

As well as providing project management assistance throughout, InterAct are also developing a P&A strategy adhering to the Dutch NOGEPA abandonment guidelines alongside a full step-by-step operation programme ready for when the operation goes live.
